Judges Section

The Judges Section is not involved in the amicus process of the Law Society.

Judicial officers who are members of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society are automatically members of the Judges Section unless a judicial officer requests in writing to be excluded. Judicial officers shall include retired judicial officers. Judicial officer is defined to include a “public official vested with the authority to hear, determine, and preside over legal matters brought in a court of law.”

The Judges Section shall support judicial officers through the world by promoting and supporting the rule of law and the fair, unbiased, effective and efficient administration of justice. The Judges Section of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society shall promote the independence of the judiciary throughout the world. Judicial independence is fundamental to a free society governed by the rule of law.

The Judges Section shall promote the collegiality, ethics, professional excellence and well-being of Judges Section members and other judicial officers throughout the world.
