Speaker Bio:

Martin R. Stephens – Marty currently serves as the Director of Government, Community, and Interfaith Relations for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In this capacity he manages the Church’s government, community, and interfaith relations teams operating throughout the world. He previously worked for Merit Medical Systems, Inc., managing its European Sales & Marketing Division and serving as Executive Vice President of U.S. Direct Sales and Customer Service. Prior to his time at Merit Medical, he served as a Vice President for Zions Bank and worked as a Director for Transamerica Insurance Company. In addition to his professional experience, Marty has given substantial political service on behalf of the State of Utah, including service as President of the National Conference of State Legislatures (2003-2004), Speaker of the Utah House of Representatives (1998-2004), Chairman of the Utah House Budget (1994-1998), and Majority Leader of the Utah House of Representatives (1992-1994). He is also a former Mayor and City Councilman of Farr West City.
