They have five active, athletic boys. Known for his energetic personality, Bart is always on the go, whether he is serving in his local church congregation, attending one of his boys' games, or traveling with his family. Lately, he travels often to Utah to visit his first granddaughter.

His career began at Hoffman Construction--building housing and data centers throughout the country. When he was president of OEG (one of the NW's biggest electrical contractors), he was placed on Portland Business Journal's Forty Under Forty list. He is currently the President of Cobalt Development, a real estate/development and consulting company founded in 2014. Cobalt's motto is "Built For Good," underscoring its mission to enrich lives and communities through the built environment.
