On Thursday, May 9, 2024, the Europe North Area of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society was very pleased to host an event and reception with guest speakers Elder Alexander Dushku, General Counsel and General Authority Seventy for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, along with David Channer, Associate General Counsel. The event was held at the Hyde Park Chapel in London.
Speaking to an audience of over 100 individuals, Elder Dushku spoke of the enormous value to the world of the rule of law and of religious freedom, including the rights of free speech and being able to gather together. David Channer told of his role in the acquisition of the Kirtland Temple and associated artifacts.
The meeting concluded with a buffet reception held in honor of the members of the Office of General Counsel in attendance, including Area Legal Counsel for Europe and Africa, and other employees of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Members of the Society traveled from across the UK to attend and had a wonderful experience together.
