On December 19, 2023, a Student Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Society was founded in Lima, Peru. In 2024, it began its activities under the leadership of its president, Evelyn Lucero Angulo Asuncion. In addition, this chapter has a board composed of a vice-presidency, an events committee, a religious freedom committee, a women in law committee and a service committee.
Its primary mission is to foster training and academic excellence, promote justice and equity, foster the personal and professional development of its members, as well as to defend religious freedom and conduct community service activities.
On January 9, 2024, the members of this chapter held an event called "Informative Talk for Law Students", in which they provided information about their objectives and planned events for the rest of the year. Soon, on March 16, they will conduct an academic training entitled "Religious Freedom in Peru: How to defend it from a constitutional point of view". This training is aimed at law students, lawyers and the general public.
The members of the chapter are committed to their professional development and service to those who need it most. They proudly recognize their role as future members of the J. Reuben Clark Law Association, Professionals Chapter in Lima, Peru, which they consider a model to follow.
