On August 3, 2024, the newly formed Brazil Feira de Santana Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society made history by hosting the first-ever “Fortify the Family” workshop in Brazil. This pioneering event, held in partnership with the State University of Feira de Santana (UEFS), Proex, Mullieribus, and the Hilda Carneiro State School, marked a significant milestone in promoting family values and community support in Bahia state.
The two-hour workshop was led by psychologist Eliana Monteiro and police chief officer Clécia Vasconcelos. Both facilitators brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the event, engaging participants with insightful discussions and practical advice on strengthening family bonds and addressing challenges.
The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive. The auditorium was filled to capacity with students’ parents, school staff, and other members of the community, all eager to participate in this unique program. Attendees expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, highlighting the importance of such workshops in fostering a stronger, more resilient community.
Organizers and participants alike hailed the workshop as a resounding success, far exceeding expectations. This event sets a promising precedent for future “Fortify the Family” workshops in Brazil, demonstrating the J. Reuben Clark Law Society’s commitment to supporting families and communities across the country.
