Academic Training on Religious Freedom

On Saturday, March 16, 2024, the J. Reuben Clark Society Student Chapter in Lima, Peru, held its second event enriching the education of the student community.

The Magistrate of the Constitutional Court of Peru, Dr. Helder Dominguez Haro, gave a master lecture entitled “Religious Freedom: How to Defend It from the Constitutional Field.” This event promoted the discussion of issues related to the fundamental rights of all Peruvians with particular focus on the defense of religious freedom as consecrated in article 2 of the Peruvian Constitution.

Attendees appreciated the opportunity to increase their knowledge of defending fundamental rights from a judge who has such extensive experience and insight in the field. Members of the Lima Student Chapter of JRCLS came away with better tools to defend the rights enshrined in the Constitution.
