"Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness: Foundations of Freedom" is the theme for the 2026 J. Reuben Clark Annual Conference, held February 26 - 27, 2026, at American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. The conference is a unique opportunity for attorneys and law students of faith from across the world to strengthen their commitment to public service, professional excellence, and promoting fairness and virtue founded upon the rule of law. With incredible speakers, a fireside event in the historic Washington National Cathedral, and an optional moonlight tour of U.S. Capitol monuments, this conference promises to be an enlightening and inspiring experience for lawyers and law students of faith.

 Thursday, February 26: 9:00 am - 9:00 pm EST; Friday, February 27: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm EST. 

Pricing: Registration pricing is based on category of attendee: attorney (private practice; government/non-profit/non-practicing); law student; and guest. Prices double after February 10, 2026. See registration page for details.

Rex E. Lee Lunch: In conjunction with the Annual Conference, the D.C. Mid-Atlantic Chapter will be holding its annual Rex E. Lee Lunch. Attendance at this lunch is included in Annual Conference registration. As this will be a combined event, there will be limited seating and some participants may be seated in an adjoining room for lunch and to watch the event via livestream. Continuing Legal Education Credit: Seven (7) CLE credits have been approved by the Utah State Bar. Approval is pending from the Delaware State Bar. New York’s Approved Jurisdiction Policy applies. Attendees from Virginia and other jurisdictions should apply for CLE credit from their respective state bar associations. Optional Post-Conference Excursion: Evening Monuments Tour: Washington, D.C. by Moonlight. Friday, February 27, 2026. 5:30 - 8:30 pm.

Please join us to complete your conference experience with an unforgettable evening exploring our nation’s capitol after dark! This optional post-conference excursion includes a heated charter bus, a professional D.C. tour guide, and a box dinner. Optional Post-Conference Student Networking Event: Friday, February 27, 2026. 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  Barlow Center: 2520 L Street Northwest, Washington, D.C. 20037.

Join fellow students for a relaxed post-conference networking gathering at the Barlow Center. This informal evening is a great opportunity to meet peers from other schools, continue conversations from the conference, and build lasting professional friendships in a welcoming setting. Pizza will be provided. Just bring yourself and come connect!

Housing: Attendees are responsible for arranging their own housing during the conference. Special conference rates are available at select hotels for registered guests through January 26, or until the reserved room blocks are filled, whichever comes first. Thursday night only: The fireside event will be held on Thursday, February 26 at the Washington National Cathedral. Complimentary shuttles will be provided to the Washington National Cathedral before the fireside, and to select hotels following the fireside. Dress Code: Thursday, February 26: Business Formal; Friday, February 27: Business Casual. 

Service Project: Donate to the JRCLS clothing drive benefiting InterFaith Works. Gently used, high-quality winter weather clothing is welcome, with a special need for new socks and underwear and gently used men’s warm winter items.

Cancellations & Refunds: No refunds will be issued for excursion cancellations after January 26, 2026, or for conference cancellations after February 10, 2026.
