Legal Education Event for Women in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo

Over 200 women attended a free legal seminar put on by the DRC Chapter in Kinshasa on June 22, 2024, with 25 Law Society members providing legal assistance.  The purpose of the event was to help educate women on issues related to their marriages, aiming to reduce mistreatment and increase understanding of their rights and responsibilities. Free legal services were also provided, included helping widows with estate and inheritance issues, educating abused women regarding their rights, and advising women about the marriage registration process to legalize their relationships.

The service event was organized by DRC Chapter Chair Chantal Madiya Bitonda, and Chair-Elect Philippe Masamba, with Africa Central Area Chair Matthieu Malonga and Elder David Ngabizele, Area Seventy of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, participating.
