Texas Austin Chapter Members and Student Chapter Members,
We are less than a week away from the first in-person event for 2026! This will be our “Lift Where You Stand” service project activity for 2026.
I am excited that the University of Texas School of Law will be back in session, and welcome any new and returning students to join us this Saturday.
Also, feel free to sign up and bring friends and family. I know that high schoolers are looking for service hours, so bring them along!
Here are the details on the event:
Please join us on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Community First! Village from 7:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to make a direct impact through activities such as laying pathways, harvesting gardens, tending to the chicken coop, and more. Through this service activity, you will have the opportunity to connect with fellow chapter members while helping ensure that those who have experienced homelessness are supported, cared for, and not forgotten.
Our volunteer group will be led by a current neighbor of Community First! Village. Our service will help provide Community First! Village neighbors with a beautiful community and dignified income, enabling them to pay rent, purchase groceries, and build stability.
To participate, please RSVP as soon as possible, through the link that was sent to your listed email address previously. Follow the link and click on the radio button on the bottom far left in the “Shifts” table, then fill out your information in the boxes below the table and submit to register.
We ask all participants to dress appropriately for a safe and productive morning of service. Please refer to the volunteer checklist below:
· Required Volunteer Checklist:
· Long pants or shorts with tall socks
· Closed-toed shoes (boots recommended)
· Work or gardening gloves
· Water bottle
· Sunscreen and bug spray
I look forward to seeing you there!
