With more than 25 years in the legal profession, Atty. Mary Ann L. Ojeda-Isidro has built a career defined by competence, integrity, and steady leadership. Her experience spans government service, private practice, academia, and nearly two decades with the Office of General Counsel for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—an uncommon breadth that reflects both depth of expertise and commitment to purpose.
Known for her focused and results-driven approach, Mary Ann has handled a wide range of legal matters, including business contracts, property acquisition, real estate transactions, taxation, corporate formation and maintenance, securities regulation, immigration, visas, and family law. For 18 years with the Office of General Counsel, she served in key roles such as Lead Counsel for Property Acquisition, Outside Counsel, and International Legal Manager for Asia, Asia North, and the Philippines.
Before joining the OGC, she worked with the Bureau of Immigration, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and served as in-house litigation and corporate counsel for a real estate corporation—early experiences that shaped her practical and well-rounded legal perspective.
Beyond practice, Mary Ann has also contributed to legal education. She taught Obligations and Contracts, Sales and Lease, Labor Law Review, and Securities and Capital Market at her alma mater for six years. She is also the author of The Securities Regulation Code (RA 8799) with Annotations, reflecting her strong foundation in corporate and securities law.
Her academic record is equally distinguished. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from San Sebastian College – Institute of Law as Valedictorian and Best Law Intern. She recently completed her Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the J. Reuben Clark Law School of Brigham Young University (BYU Law) in Provo, Utah—an experience that broadened her international legal perspective and strengthened her commitment to faith-integrated legal practice. Earlier, she graduated cum laude from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila with a Bachelor of Science in Education, majoring in English and Social Studies, and was recognized as Most Outstanding University Student, Most Outstanding Student of the College of Education, and a Five Outstanding Campus Leaders (FOCAL) Awardee.
Leadership has been a constant theme in her journey. As a sophomore law student, she founded the Just Union of Responsible and Independent Students (JURIS), which continues to thrive as a leading student organization in San Sebastian College – Institute of Law. In 2008, she founded the J. Reuben Clark Law Society Philippines Chapter, serving in various capacities—including Secretary, Conference Chair, Chair-Elect, Chair, and member of the Executive Board. Under her leadership, the Philippines Manila Chapter received the Franklin S. Richards Pro Bono Legal Service Award in 2012.
In September 2023, she made history as the first Philippine Area Chair of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society—another milestone in a career marked not only by professional excellence but by dedication to service and principled leadership.
