As September comes to a close, we look back with gratitude on a memorable season for the JRCLS – Philippines Area — a season marked by service, perseverance, friendship, and faith.
The 2026 Bar Examinations were more than three days on the calendar. They represented months and years of preparation, countless hours of study, sacrifices quietly made, prayers offered, and dreams carried by aspiring lawyers and the people who stood beside them.
And for the JRCLS community, the journey was one we were privileged to share.
BEFORE THE BAR: SERVING AND PREPARING
The weeks leading to the examinations brought our 2026 Bar Operations into full swing.
JRCLS members and volunteers came together to support Bar examinees through practical assistance, Bar kits, messages of encouragement, fellowship, and other acts of service. Each effort, however simple, was a reminder to our Bar takers that they were surrounded by a community that believed in them and was willing to walk with them.
Behind every examinee was a story—and behind every story was a network of family, friends, mentors, colleagues, and loved ones who helped make the journey possible.
THE BAR EXAMINATIONS
Then came September 6, 9, and 13.
Three examination days. Three opportunities to give everything they had prepared for.
As Bar examinees entered their respective testing centers, they carried with them not only their reviewers and notes, but also the hopes and prayers of the people who had supported them throughout the journey.
For some, it was the culmination of years of legal education. For others, it was the fulfillment of a dream that had survived countless challenges.
And when the final examination ended, there was a collective exhale—a moment to finally say:
“The Bar is done.”
AFTER THE LAST EXAMINATION
But the story did not end when the last answer was submitted.
The days following the Bar brought opportunities for rest, fellowship, thanksgiving, and celebration. Bar takers, families, friends, lawyers, and JRCLS members gathered not simply to mark the end of an examination, but to celebrate the people and relationships that made the journey meaningful.
There were conversations about the examination, laughter over shared experiences, stories of sleepless nights and unforgettable moments, and perhaps most importantly, the realization that a difficult chapter had been completed together.
The post-Bar gatherings reminded us that some of the most meaningful moments of the journey happen outside the examination room.
A SEASON OF SERVICE
Looking back, the 2026 Bar Operations were never just about providing assistance to examinees.
They were about lifting where we stand.
They were about lawyers serving future lawyers.
They were about friends showing up for friends.
They were about families making sacrifices.
They were about a community reminding aspiring members of the legal profession that they do not have to walk alone.
This is the spirit of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society — using our profession, our time, and our talents in the service of others and in support of the rule of law.
SEPTEMBER, WE WILL REMEMBER
As September draws to a close, we celebrate the memories of this year's Bar season—the preparation, the Bar Operations, the examination days, the prayers, the laughter, the exhaustion, the relief, and the fellowship that followed.
To our 2026 Bar examinees: congratulations on completing this chapter. May the lessons learned during this journey remain with you as you take the next step toward your legal careers.
To the JRCLS volunteers, leaders, families, mentors, and friends who served throughout the Bar season: thank you for giving your time, energy, and hearts.
And to everyone who became part of these moments:
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for serving.
Thank you for lifting where you stand.
As we close the month of September, we look back not only at a Bar that was taken, but at a community that walked together.
The examinations are over. The memories remain. The journey continues.
