On Saturday, May 9, 2026, the J. Reuben Clark Law Society (JRCLS) Philippines Mindanao Chapter hosted a vibrant Student Meet & Greet + Orientation at the S & I Building in Iligan City.
The orientation was enriched by the presence of distinguished legal leaders. Atty. Mary Ann L. Ojeda, the Philippines Area Chair, joined via Zoom to deliver an inspiring message to the students, emphasizing the global impact of the society. Additionally, Atty. Lezl S. Gusay, the Mindanao Chapter Chair, shared a warm and welcoming recorded message, further motivating the attendees. Iligan City Councilor, Atty. Marlene Young, dropped by to personally engage with the law students.
The orientation was designed to welcome students into the JRCLS family, offering them a unique space to connect with practicing attorneys from the MSU-College of Law Iligan Alumni as well as the global JRCLS community.
The spirit of community was shared over a meal of pizza and pasta, where students and attorneys engaged in informal discussions. The event also featured personal experience sharing and an engaging Open Forum.
By bridging the gap between students and practitioners, the JRCLS Mindanao Chapter continues to cultivate a supportive legal community dedicated to high ethical standards and public service.
