International Religious Freedom Day | J. Reuben Clark Law Society

The J. Reuben Clark Law Society is committed to defending religious freedom throughout the world. To that aim, we encourage every chapter to celebrate International Religious Freedom Day each year on or around October 27th.

Chapter leaders are encouraged to take the lead in planning a celebration, supported by other chapter leaders and members. Resources and ideas for planning events are below. Individual members of the Law Society are also welcome to utilize these resources in their efforts to celebrate International Religious Freedom Day.

Planning Resources:

JRCLS Religious Freedom Lessons: Available in English, Portuguese and Spanish, this resource contains six lessons that can be divided into smaller segments.
10 Ways to Protect Religious Freedom: This article provides 10 simple ways to protect religious freedom in everyday life.
Religious Freedom Library: Maintained by the International Center for Law and Religion Studies, this website contains numerous messages from religious leaders on the topic of religious freedom.
JRCLS Religious Freedom Event Planning Guide: English | Español | Português This two-page resources provides basic information for planning a religious freedom event.

Event Ideas:

Interfaith panels, roundtable discussions, and community conversations on religious freedom.
Brown-bag lunch discussions focused on current religious freedom issues and developments.
Interfaith service projects, awareness campaigns, writing initiatives, book discussions, or opportunities for members to share personal experiences relating to faith and religious freedom.
Family home evening discussions and chapter study groups focused on religious liberty principles.
Virtual conferences, webinars, and online educational programs.
