About this event

For our chapter's May month of service, we are teaming up with other BYU alumni in the area to provide service by partnering with Feed My Starving Children to host a World Hunger Day event. Here is the description from the Seattle BYU Alumni group:

"A fellow BYU alum (class of 2001) and her son—an incoming freshman—are partnering with Feed My Starving Children to host a World Hunger Day event. Over three days, 500 volunteers will work in 2-hour shifts to pack more than 100,000+ meals for children facing hunger around the world. Each meal is formulated to provide full daily nutrition at just $0.29 - meaning only $106 feeds a child for an entire year.

Ingredients will be funded entirely through local donations and corporate sponsors. Artisan goods crafted by mothers of children who receive the food will also be available, supporting families working toward self-reliance. This is a wonderful, hands-on experience for families of all ages (5-105).

Ways to Get Involved:

- Volunteers to pack meals (2-hour shifts)

- Join the leadership/planning team

- Donors or become a corporate sponsor (marketing perks available)

- Help spread the word to others who may want to participate

If you would like to participate or learn more, please reach out, and we’ll connect you with the organizers."
