About this event

Non-attorneys welcome! Recognizing that many in our fold will be participating in or leading religious liberty discussions during Church of Jesus Christ Sunday services on May 31, this program is designed for participants to think through the legal concepts in advance. With the legal framework in mind, participants will be well-situated to lead productive, faith-filled Sunday meetings.

In particular, this program equips attorneys to engage questions of liberty, agency, and institutional restraint through a nonpartisan framework integrating law and values‑based reasoning. Participants will leave with practical tools to navigate sensitive discussions, promote civil discourse, and balance persuasion, coercion, and professional responsibility in complex settings. Virginia CLE will be applied for, and certificates of attendance for other states may be requested.

Agenda and materials will be distributed during/post-meeting.
