This presentation will consider the role of communication in elevating individual and organizational performance in any setting. Mark Mortensen received his MBA from BYU and began his career in the healthcare industry in 1994 in Orange County. He began in an M&A role for a publicly traded healthcare provider and transitioned to leadership roles in various healthcare operations. In 2004, he was one of the founders and is CEO of a home-based healthcare company named Salus Homecare which provides home health, hospice, palliative care and non-medical personal care throughout Southern CA. For the past three decades, Mr. Mortensen has also served in a variety of leadership positions within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Mission President of the Texas, Houston Mission (2014-2017) and Area Seventy (2020-2025). He currently serves as the U.S. West Area Communication Director for the Church. He and his wife, Kristina, are the parents of six children and grandparents of three.
