The Declaration’s landmark proclamations that “all men are created equal” and “are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights” revolutionized the rights afforded to not only Americans, but all of God’s children. Indeed, over half of the world’s countries have adopted founding declarations that draw upon these divinely inspired ideals.
In celebration of these principles, we will be privileged to hear from JRCLS board member James Rex Lee, who practices in the Appellate and Constitutional Law Practice Group of Gibson Dunn. James served as law clerk to Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr. of the U.S. Supreme Court; Judge Amul Thapar of the Sixth Circuit; and Judge Howard Nielson, Jr. of the District of Utah. James was a J. Reuben Clark Scholar at BYU Law School, where he frequently returns as a guest lecturer.
