As part of the activities of the Rule of Law Camp, the Peru Lima Chapter of J. Reuben Clark Law Society organized an enriching academic visit to the Constitutional Court of Peru. The visit was attended by upper-level students from the Brigham Young School, a private school in the district of San Miguel, interested in learning firsthand about the constitutional justice system and strengthening their civic and legal education.
During the visit, the students toured the facilities of the institution responsible for interpreting the Peruvian constitution and learned about its role in protecting fundamental rights, reviewing the constitutionality of laws, and upholding the rule of law. They also received an explanation of the Constitutional Court’s organization, powers, and operations, which helped them understand the importance of this institution in strengthening democracy and respecting the constitutional order.
The activity provided a valuable educational experience, allowing participants to complement the knowledge acquired in the classroom with direct exposure to judicial work. It also sparked greater interest in the study of law, strengthened their constitutional awareness, and reaffirmed values such as integrity, service, and commitment to justice.
The Peru Lima Chapter extends its special gratitude to the Constitutional Court of Peru for providing the facilities and support necessary for this guided visit, as well as for its continued willingness to promote initiatives that contribute to the education of future generations.
