Mexico Hidalgo Chapter Conducts Specialized Workshops on Immigration Law and Human Rights

The Hidalgo Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Legal Society, chaired by Jeimmy Itzel Martínez García, in coordination with the Guadalajara Chapter, organized two workshops on immigration: Workshop I, "Fundamentals of Immigration Law", held on July 16, 2025, and Workshop II, "Tools for the integration and access to rights of repatriated migrants".  held on 18 August 2025. Both events were open to the general public and had the outstanding participation of Professor Javier Contreras Arreaga, Director of the Law Program at the Guadalajara campus of the Tecnológico de Monterrey and Coordinator of the Nasen Migration and Refugee
Clinic of said institution, who served as a speaker in both sessions.

The call had a significant response, bringing together about 100 attendees, including members of different chapters in the Mexican Republic, representatives of the Judicial Branch of the Federation, the Population and Migration Commission of the Congress of the State of ​Hidalgo, the Electoral Tribunal of the State of Puebla, Attorneys, and the general public. During the workshops, legal topics of great interest were addressed, such as the origin and context of migration, the human rights of migrants, the particularities of Mexican legislation on migration, as well as proposals for reform and initiatives related to migration justice.
