Legal Awareness Sessions Held by Tanzania Dar es Salaam Chapter
The Law Society’s inspiring vision statement reminds us that “as lawyers and law students of faith, . . . we serve the vulnerable in our communities through pro bono legal service and humanitarian service.” JRCLS members in the Kilimanjaro area of Tanzania Dar es Salaam Chapter demonstrated their commitment to fulfilling the Law Society’s vision during a service event on May 19, 2025, where they held legal awareness sessions for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the public, focusing on strengthening families.
During the event, Law Society members shared helpful ideas relating to the following legal topics:
-
Human rights and vulnerable groups
-
Juvenile justice and child labour laws
-
Disability and elder rights
-
Peaceful conflict resolution
-
Child protection
-
Parental responsibilities
-
Promoting legal awareness and a culture of rights and accountability
The happy faces of attendees in the photos included in this article remind us of the positive impact of the Law Society during these activities.
