Letter from the International Chair

Welcome to the website home of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society! We are a society of attorneys and law students who strive to use our legal education and training to make a difference. We encourage our members around the world to serve in their communities in harmony with the highest professional ideals. We also hold in high esteem our mission statement:

We affirm the strength brought to the law by a lawyer’s personal religious conviction. We strive through public service and professional excellence to promote fairness and virtue founded upon the rule of law.

Here are a few ways we strive to fulfill our great mission:

  1. We serve. Our worldwide local chapters and international committees regularly organize pro bono and other service efforts. There are many opportunities to serve in the Law Society. Please contact me or any other Law Society leader if you are interested in helping on a global committee or with your local chapter.
  2. We value religious liberty. We know that without religious freedom, the loss of other freedoms is almost certain to follow.
  3. We inspire. Through publications, firesides, and continuing education, we model and inspire professional excellence. Accomplished and devoted men and women mentor young professionals. Their examples and insights invigorate and empower generations of leadership.
  4. We work together. We long to link arms with other legal societies, non-profit organizations, and local bar associations to bring the power of our legal training and experience directly to those who need it the most. We encourage our members to join forces with other like-minded individuals and groups to educate, inform, and remind decision makers and others of critical causes, like religious freedom. As we team up beyond our own ranks, we hope to foster new friendships, build goodwill, and provide avenues for future collaboration and cooperation.

On a more personal note, I have been so blessed by my membership in the Law Society for many years. I have seen great examples of law and leadership, met wonderful people who have influenced me for good, and become more engaged in public service and religious freedom efforts. I hope the Law Society can be a blessing in your life as well. Please join us in helping the Law Society become an even more powerful force for good in the world.

All the best,

Joshua Randall
